Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about your next visit? We have you covered!

  • Is cold laser therapy right for my face?

Yes. When administered by a trained professional, cold laser therapy is suitable for most skin types and conditions.

Skin conditions that can be managed with low-level laser therapy include acne, dermatitis, hyperkeratosis, folliculitis, enlarged pores, facial herpes, rosacea, psoriasis, stretch marks, bruising and scars.

This modality is not advised for people with skin cancer or inherited eye disease, nor those who have received gold therapy or taken steroid injections in the past three months.

  • How does cold laser therapy for the face work?

Cellular energy diminishes as we age, leading to a slowdown in collagen production and a weakening of the cell structures critical for healthy skin. This results in thinner and more fragile skin over time.

Cold laser therapy helps to gradually revitalise skin by re-energising its cells so that they can function as they did in our youth.

This modality involves administering specific light wavelengths to the target area, which are selected based on your skin condition. Light energy penetrates the skin and stimulates its cells to initiate biological responses like cellular regeneration, collagen production, blood flow, and vasodilation.

These processes work to restore skin function, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the repair process for a radiant glow.

  • Will cold laser therapy for the face hurt?

No. Most people feel no discomfort during cold laser therapy. While this non-invasive, heat-free procedure is typically painless, you may feel a mild tingling or buzzing sensation as the light energy targets your skin.

  • Is there downtime?

No. Cold laser therapy uses precise wavelengths of non-thermal light. As there is no heat involved, there is no risk of tissue damage or downtime. However, to safeguard your eyes from the pulsating light, we insist that you use protective eyewear.

  • How many sessions will I need?

We recommended four to six sessions of cold laser therapy for the face. During a session, the laser boosts the energy in your muscles and skin, providing cumulative effects each time.

However, since everyone’s skin reacts differently, the time it takes to see changes varies. The number and frequency of sessions needed depends on your specific condition and how severe it is. During your consultation, we’ll create a customised plan tailored just for you.
